A useful way to understand what may be happening

Sometimes distress makes more sense when we look at what has been under pressure.

Our emotional needs include security, connection, privacy, choice, belonging, recognition, achievement, attention and meaning. When several of these needs are restricted or stretched for too long, it can affect how we feel, think and respond.

The Human Givens framework offers one useful lens rather than a diagnosis. The guide can help you notice what feels supported, what may be missing and where one small, realistic change could begin.
